These superb Suffragette drop earrings are Victorian, Circa 1900.
Each earring is adorned with an Amethyst which leads down to three creamy Pearls and a beautiful green, Peridot dropper which is 0.65ct.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White colours which were chosen to counter the stereotypes put forward by opponents that they were mannish or shrieking!
Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
All set in 18ct Yellow Gold and fitted with Gold shepherd hook wires.
The earrings are steeped in English history and dangle beautifully from the ear.
Weigh 2.4 grams together.
Measure 5mm across, at the widest part x 30mm down.
Both in excellent condition.
